Dhupguri, Aug.2 : Protesting against the harassment of a journalist, Dhupguri Press Club submitted a memorandum to Banarhat Police Station. On 31 July a journalist was allegedly harassed by a local trader while covering the impact of lockdown in the Duramari market under Banarhat police station. Babru Rehman, the local journalist and a member of Dhupguri Press Club, was threatened in public. After that, Babru Rehman lodged an FIR with the Dhupguri Police station. On Sunday, the press club members met the Officer-In-Charge to know the development of the case.
Gautam Rauth and Kaustav Bhowmik, the members of Dhupguri Press Club, said that they demanded the proper legal action against the accused. “The trader along with his brother were deliberately spreading rumor on Covid 19. It has a negative impact on the society. Hope police will take the right step,” they added.
