Independence day observed at Petrapole Border by BSF

Petrapole, Aug 15: The 74 th Independence Day celebration was observed at Petrapole in the Indo-Bangla International border area by the Border Security Force. Ashwini Kumar Singh, Inspector General, South Bengal Frontier hoisted the National Flag at Retreat Ceremony Parade ground at ICP Petrapole, in presence of Sh. S.S. Guleria, DIG, SB Ftr, BSF, Sh Tarni Kumar Tiu, Offg DIG SHQ Kolkata, Sh. Anil kumar, Offg Comdt, 179 Bn BSF, Sh. Naveen Kumar, Offg Comdt, 158 Bn BSF.

IG, South Bengal Frontier Aswini Kumar Sing urged to BSF jawans to perform their duties with full dedication, devotion and honesty to keep the border of India secure.

Guard of BSF gave national salute to the National Flag and the National Anthem was sung by the BSF troops. Shri Ashwini Kumar Singh, IG, South Bengal Frontier, congratulated the locals for taking part with Border Security Force. He also mentioned the struggle of freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India before the people. Tree plantation drive was undertaken at each BSF Border Outpost. The drive was inaugurated by Shri Ashwini Kumar Singh, IG South Bengal Frontier, Kolkata by planting a tree at BSF Campus.
