Inspector Subir Karmakar awarded Union Home Minister Award 2020

Kolkata, Aug. 18: Inspector Subir Karmakar from the West Bengal Police has been selected for “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2020 along with others. He is going to be awarded for solving a gang rape case in Dhupguri and securing the conviction.
It was October 20, 2016. A woman was abducted by two men and taken at the river bank where she was brutally raped and tortured by one of them. The other man who was a relative of the victim helped the rapist.
Next day the victim was admitted to the hospital by her husband.

During the investigation, the statements of the witness had been recorded. The victim’s clothes, other documents and articles were confiscated and stored. Inspector Subir arrested the accused persons and submitted the charge-sheet within three days of the incident. He also secured the conviction. The total investigation process was conducted with great efficiency. The Home Ministry, Government of India has recognized him for his expertise in this investigation. Mr. Karmakar has already been congratulated by West Bengal Police.
