Suspect connecting to women-trafficking: 2 women beaten heavily by mob

Malda, Aug. 20: Two women accused of being involved in a women-trafficking racket were beaten heavily tied to an electric post by the women of the same area.
Police rushed to the spot when they were informed and rescued the accused women from the rage of the irate mob. The incident occurred at Sonapalli area in the Malda PS area on Thursday afternoon.

An FIR has been lodged from the family of a missing woman of the same locality. Old Malda PS started an inquiry.
Police have arrested two women, namely Mithu Roy (35) and Namita Pal (40), residing at Sonapalli area. The accused women allegedly helped a house wife Anna Pal (30) to run away from her home. The family of the run-away woman doubted that the accused had a connection with the woman-trafficking racket.
Police said, the accused women were called in. After that they were tied to the electric post and beaten well by the angry people.
