Medicine-smuggling caught by BSF, arrested 2

Kolkata, Aug. 28: Two smugglers have been apprehended and a truck has been seized by the BSF (South) personnel on 26 August at Petrapole Check Post. On a tipoff, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stopped a truck at the International Check Post (ICP) at Petrapole in North 24 Parganas, with medicine-package, worth Rs.9,29,945 hidden inside. The huge amount of packed medicine was illegally transported to Bangladesh without valid documents. BSF arrested two accused, one was the driver and the other was the helper of the truck.
According to BSF spokesman, the accused were identified as Md. Tabidar Rahaman (53) and Md Rafikul Islam (38). They are the residents of Benapole Port area in Jassore, Bangladesh.

More news :  In the preliminary interrogation the accused confessed that they were Banglad esh nationals and worked with the transportation. Their truck entered India on 26 August. On the return way, they received the medicine from some Bappa of Banga, North 24 Parganas. The medicine has been transporting to some Alauddin, the owner of a cosmetic shop at Benapole, Bangladesh. They were offered Rs. 500 for that illegal transportation.

The BSF officials seized the truck along with the medicine and submitted to the Check Post Custom Office.
