Home-guard founded wounded, later died: Family doubts murder

Suman Bhowmick, South Dinajpur, Sep. 7: Tension sparked at Dakkhin Shibarampur area, under Balurghat PS after the mysterious death of a home-guard who worked at the residence of Shankar Chakraborty, the former PWD minister OF West Bengal Government.
Local people on Sunday night discovered Subodh Braman (52), the home-guard, lying wounded on the road. The family persons rushed to the spot after getting information from the locals. Subodh was admitted to the Balurghat Super Specialty hospital with a severe head injury, but he succumbed to the injuries at 1.30 pm on Monday.

The diseased family doubts that Subodhbabu has been killed. His family demands an inquiry about his unnatural death. According to the family members, Subodh babu left home at 9 am, Sunday to join his duty at the residence of the TMC leader. But he didn’t get back home in time. Around 7 pm they were informed by the local people that Subodhbabu was lying wounded on the road. A case has been filed to the Balurghat PS.
After the preliminary inquiry Balurghat police arrested a person in connection with that case.
